16 months

Addison is 16 months old today!!!! I cannot believe it. She is no longer a little baby. She is a roaring, active, toddler who is moving into her terrible twos. We are catching some glimpses of them already. Here are some bullet points of what we love so much about our little peanut.
  • She is walking everywhere. She prefers to walk over being carried and will scream if she cannot have it that way.
  • She loves cell phones, remotes, computers, bascially anything that we do not want her to have.
  • She loves books! She will look through books for hours and will always find the animal books and specifically point out the cats and dogs. She loves those pages the best.
  • While looking at books, she will turn the pages and start talking like she is reading them. It is the cutest thing.
  • She hates her glasses and will not leave them on her face!
  • She loves to dance whenever she hears music.
  • She is saying "da-da", "ra-ra", "hank" (just the K sound), "na-na". Still no mom. =[ She is repeating a lot more sounds that we say to her though.
  • She definately lets us know when she does not want to do something or it wasn't what she wanted. She is a little spitfire!!!!!
  • She loves to smile at people and will always find someone at a restaurant willing to wave at her.
  • She is still a great sleeper at night (thank goodness). She is not a great napper.
  • She is the love of our lives and the most amazing daughter anyone could ask for!

Christmas Card

I thought that this would be a better way to get information to those who want to see if plus it will help the environment!!!

It has been a crazy year this past year!!! Lots of firsts for Addison and lots of firsts for us too!!!

Addison is a very rambunctious 15 month old who loves Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and anything Sesame Street. She can say "nana", "rara", "dada", and "hank". Still no mama yet but I think that she is just doing that to make me mad!!!! She loves Hank and Daisy and her favorite thing to do now is throw food on the floor so Hank will eat it! She just started walking on her own and is getting much better at it. She is finally starting to walk to toys instead of crawl to them. We just turned her around in her car seat and it is amazing how different the world looks when you face forward instead of back in the car. =]

I am still teaching students with autism at Madison in Davenport. I like to spend my time (what little I have) reading, blogging, and hanging out with family. I just started the Twilight series and am looking forward to a book by Nora Roberts that should be coming out soon!

Ryan is still an assistant mangager at Hy-Vee in Bettendorf. He works odd hours but loves to spend time with his family, play video games, and anything that has to do with sports. Go HAWKS!

Hank and Daisy are just as spoiled as ever and are adjusting to having Addison in the house. They are both very tolerant of her. Addison loves to pull tails and ears. When they get tired of it, they go away and hide!!!!

Thanksgiving weekend

wow, what a whirlwind this weekend has been. It was a great weekend full of family and fun!!!! It started with Mark and Grete coming in on Wednesday night. Thursday started with brunch in the morning at Grandma's house, games and then dinner at the Tiemeier's. Friday was more of the same. We had dinner at the club and then opened Christmas gifts. Addison got an Abby Cadabby doll from the Hatz family and a turtle leap frog toy, a book, and bath toys from Grete and Mark. On Saturday we played more games, had more to eat, and all around a lot of fun. Pretty much all weekend was eating, drinking, fun and games. It was all a lot of fun and it was great to see Mark and Grete!
Carter opening his gift from us. He was not sure what to think of it to begin with but I think he likes it now.
Addison playing with Carter's Christmas gift from Mark and Grete. They did a really good job sharing it! Not really, that is Addison pulling on Carter's ear in the first photo.
Addison with her Abby Cadabby doll. I have never seen her so happy!! She loves that doll.
All in all, it was a great weekend. Now we need to rest and work off all the turkey and desserts that we ate all weekend!!!

Ryan let the cat out of the bag!!

Ryan was so excited about what he got me for Christmas that he kept laying down hints until he accidentily said it last night during dinner. He got me a new computer, a laptop. It is an HP and it is really awesome. I am so excited about it. Hopefully, it will help me update my blog more often. =] Addison got her glasses on Tuesday. She is not very good about wearing them. It is definately going to be a process. If anyone has any helpful hints, I am open to anything. Pictures of her in her glasses in another post. Wishing everyone a healthy, happy, and safe Thanksgiving.
