Cool Paper!

 Favorite things:
  • ADDISON!!!!!  He still loves his big sis more than anything.
  • FOOD!  My kid loves to eat!
  • His thumb- I have a thumb sucker.  He is pretty picky too, he likes his left thumb over his right
  • Hank and Daisy-  smiles all around for them
  • blowing raspberries
  • bath time
  • toys (rings specifically)
Things I am doing:
  • sitting up on my own
  • rolling over both ways
  • saying "ma ma", "da da"
  • getting my butt up in the air and pushing myself forward but not crawling yet
  • He is loved by all of the child watch people at the Y because he is so smiley and loves everyone who comes to talk to him.
  • sleeps from 8:30-6:30 every night
I cannot believe that my baby is 7 months old already.  It is crazy around here right now.  Laura is due May 9th with baby number 2 but I think it is going to be earlier than that.  March of Dimes walk is next weekend.  Ryan and I are going to a Red sox vs. White sox game on Sunday for his big 3-0!  We are also going to Galena next weekend for a weekend away and the kiddos are going to the farm.

Easter weekend!

Busy, Busy, Busy for us. We started our weekend off at 5 AM on Saturday morning with the cops on our doorstep. The door to our van was left open. The paper boy called the police and they came to see if it was broken into or not. It was not so I must have left the door open or something like that! We had lunch with the Easter Bunny on Saturday afternoon and brunch on Sunday morning. Mark and Grete came to visit so it was one crazy but FUN weekend!!!

6 months!

Wow how time flies!!
Gus updates:
  • he has found his feet and he loves his feet.
  • He babbles all of the time!!! He is very loud and loves to hear his own voice!
  • He can spit raspberries and loves to spit. ( It is so enduring when babies do it but when Addison does it, it is disgusting)
  • He weighs 17 lbs. 12.5 ounces at 6 months (Addison weighed in at 13 lbs. when she was six months old)
  • He is sleeping through the night and has been for quite some time.
  • He is getting better at sitting up.
  • We have moved him to the second level on his excersauser. I found a picture of Addison in the excersauser at about 7 months and she is on the first level and standing on a phone book. Gus is going to be taller than his sister sooner than later.
  • He is rolling all over the place and is starting to scoot on his face. I turn my back and he has moved all the way across the blanket.
  • He is starting to get two teeth on the bottom!

Addison stories

  • She fell asleep while I was reading her books tonight. She has not done that for at least a year.
  • She no longer takes a nap and is sleeping in her room all night long (she comes in to ours but goes back to hers with minimal crying
  • She is hilarious and has so much attitude for a 3 and a half year old.

Addisonisms

  • Hospital: has-table
  • Freezing: Freezering
  • Bandaids: Dandaids

Stories

  • I let Addison check the mail with me and let her hold some junk mail. We got in the house and she looked at her mail and said "Bills, bills, bills, nothing but bills"
  • We took Addison to the outlet mall while I was on break. She kept saying every thing was "only eight dollars" even Auntie Jo's Coach purse. (the woman at Coach didn't think it was very funny when Addison said that, Grouch!)

Addison or Gus (which is which)

May be obvious based on the outfit but I think they have the same smile.

5 months old today!

Gus man is going great!!! He is such a happy little boy and always has a smile saved for his big sis!! If he is mad, she is always able to get a smile out of him! Here are some stats about our little buddy or as Addison's calls him "my best friend" (so cute)

  • He is starting to sit up unassisted (okay, he doesn't topple immediately when I let him go) =]

  • He sleeps on his side every night and that is as far as he has gotten rolling from back to front. He is just as happy on his side.

  • He loves to talk. He is also incredibly loud when he does so (He needs to be with a sister like Addison)

  • Started to say "ba ba ba"

  • He is reaching for things and everything goes into his mouth!

  • He is a chunkey monkey and can polish off an entire container of baby food at dinner plus a bottle!

  • He is a terrible drooler. Many times he will have drool on his shirt all the way down to his belly button.

  • He is a spitter too but it has gotten better!

It is hard to believe that our little man is five months already. I am off school in 13 days for spring break and I am totally looking forward to my time off with my babies!!!! =]

Christmas Card 2011

Happy Holidays!!! I cannot believe another year has come and gone. We have had one big change this year! We welcomed August John Meyer (aka Gus or Gussy man) on September 19, 2011. Here are some brief tidbits about all of us!
Ryan is still at Hy-Vee. He is the Assistant Director of Store Operations and finally has some better hours. He loves the Hawks and is addicted to my yearly Christmas present of his Hawkeye website. He will also give me updates on recruits for both basketball and football (I pretend like I care).
Katie is still at Madison teaching students with autism. This is her 9th year teaching. She loves to read (when she has time) and play with my beautiful babies!
Addison is a bouncing, bounding 3 year old! She loves to talk and is very good at it. She says the craziest things. She just talked to the Grinch on the phone today and told him not to take her candy canes! She took a tumbling class this summer and we are looking into preschools for next year. I cannot believe that she is going to be old enough for preschool.
August was born on September 19. He came into the world at 11:52 AM weighing in at 8 lbs. 13 oz. He is almost 3 months old now. We have had some trials and tribulations. He was pretty crabby the first two months but is getting much better now. He is beginning to smile and is able to hold his head steady when being pulled to a sitting position.
Hank and Daisy haven't changed much, just adjusting to one more body in the house!!!
