School and other things

It has been awhile since I updated last. School has started for me so that means Addison spends time at Grandma's when her papa is working or more time with her papa when he is working nights or off. School is going well but I miss spending time with my peanut. She is starting to wave at people when she sees them or when they leave. Her birthday is coming up and I still cannot believe that she is almost one. She has already gotten one gift from her Grandma and Grandpa Meyer that she loves. It is a little chair that matches her room and her are some pics of her and her new chair. Also her is a preview of Addison in her Halloween costume.
Okay, not lovin the chair in the 1st photo but that is because Mommy made her mad. She did not want her picture taken!!

11 months today!!

I cannot believe that my little miracle is 11 months old today and that one month from now we will be celebrating her first birthday! How time flies!!! It seems like yesterday I was spending all my time in the NICU and wishing for the day that we would get out of there and finally get to come home. Addison is doing very well and is doing all of the things that a 9 month old would be doing and even some things that an 11th month of should be doing and that is exactly where they want her. She will probably catch up by 2 or so. I am afraid that she is always going to be a little peanut but thats okay. My biggest worry is going to find shoes that would be good for walking feet because her feet are still so tiny!!! Here are some pictures of her.

RIP Mabel Sable, Hello G6

About a week and a half ago Ryan was driving home from work like any normal day and was sitting at the Utica Ridge and 53rd street intersection. The light was red so he was waiting when he gets slammed by a Ford Fusion that then pushed him into the SUV in front of him. No one was hurt thank goodness but the girl that hit him was going at least 35. Ryan said that he saw her coming and had enough time to brace himself on the steering wheel and put two feet on the brake. Needless to say, Mabel is totaled so Ryan and I had to go car shopping. Good thing we know someone in the car biz. We bought a 2006 Pontiac G6 with a sunroof (for Hank mostly since he likes to stick his head out). Just kidding, we both really wanted a sunroof because we felt like that would be something that we would miss. Here are some photos of poor Mabel and the new G6.

It's time to enlist!

Well, Miss Addison has started army crawling! Now it is really time to baby proof. She loves to pull open the drawers of the entertainment center and get into things that she is not supposed to. In the last week, Addison has had her first swimming outing and fishing trip. We went up to Bear Creek with Ryan's family this last weekend to do some trout fishing and had a really good time. Ryan took the week off work so we also spent some time at Grandma and Grandpa Meyer's. She got to play with her cousins and see grandma and grandpa!!! She had lots of fun. Here are a plethora of photos from the weekend plus some army crawling video and bathtime fun!!!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Well, today marks our third wedding anniversary!!! To celebrate, Ryan and I both worked at different times of the day. I had to work with a student for four hours this morning and Ryan worked tonight from 3-12! What a way to spend our anniversary. We saw each other from 12:00-2:00 pm. Oh well, tomorrow he starts his week vaca so I will get to see him plenty. I cannot believe that it has been three years that Ryan and I have been married. A lot has changed in those three years. We bought a house, got a dog and cat, had a baby. I love him more and more each day!!! Here are some pics from that day three years ago.

In the Dark

It has been an interesting couple of days for the Meyer family. Last Friday night, Davenport had a pretty nasty storm that knocked power out for 12,000 people. Well, we were one of them. A neighbor's tree went down on the power lines and everything went dark! Once things had calmed down outside we went out to survey the damage. Ryan called MidAmerican. It was pretty pleasant in our house the first night because we had the air on all day. We slept in the basement on the futon anyway because Ryan wanted to make sure the sump pump battery backup kept working. It worked up until 11 the next day when a neighbor from across the street (who had power) let us use his generator so we could plug in our fridge and the battery so our basement wouldn't flood. My wonderful husband stuck around on Saturday instead of going to work to keep an eye on the sump pump and help the neighbors. He let Addison and I out of the house so we could go swimming. Addison loved swimming!!!!! It was her first real experience. Saturday night, Ryan's sister, brother-in-law, and their kids came to stay. It was a lot like camping. NO lights, no cool air. It was okay though. It got to about 88 in our house. Finally, at 9:00 Saturday night someone from MidAmerican showed up to survey the damage and he told us that they didn't have record of us and this tree limb down. Baloney! Whatever, finally at 3:00 am Sunday morning, our lights popped back on!!!! It was definately an interesting experience and one that I do not want to repeat any time soon!!
