One!

Well the day is here and I cannot believe it!  My baby is 1!  This is such a bittersweet day!  He is no longer a baby but has entered the world of toddlerdom!  Jake, you are such an awesome little guy with such a personality! I love your "duck face" and your fake cough.  I love our cuddles every night and hope you don't want to give those up soon!  Here are some things that you are doing at one.

*taken some unassisted steps but are a super fast crawler/bear walker!!

*in mostly 12 month clothes

*no more baby food for you except for prunes (you have some poopy problems)

*loves fruit, bread, pancakes, puffs and yogurt melts.  Like PB sandwiches (yes, we tried it before 1... Gasp) and will eat meat when it is the only thing there so the meat comes first!

*love to give open mouth kisses

*loves his siblings even when they get too close sometimes

*still a huge mamas boy (don't ever want it to change)

*19 lbs. 2 oz (5th percentile) and 28.25 inches long (8th percentile)

One more month

I cannot believe that in a month from now you will be 1.  This year has flown by!  Jake, you have an awesome personality! You are sweet, funny, active, and a temper is coming out slowly!!  You are a mamas boy, still!  That's okay though because you are only going to be little for so long!  Things you can do; 

* mostly you bear crawl or are a peg leg (like Gus)

* transferring from one thing to another

*standing on you own

*love to throw balls and chase them

*you want nothing more to do with baby food!!!  You want to eat food that you can pick up and feed yourself.  You like chicken, roast, bread, pancakes, eggs, most fruits, you still love yogurt, puffs, yoghurt bites.

*we have blocked off the steps and you are loving the new freedom in the rest of the house.

*we are trying to work on some signs, like "more" but right now you just scream when you want more food.

*you definitely like to make yourself known and are getting louder

*starting to move into 12 month clothes, but still mostly in 9 month.  You still fit into your 3-6 month swim suit.  :)

*starting to get my top two teeth

* sleeps through the night!

Jake 9 mos.

I cannot believe that you have been in our lives for 9 months!!!  Time needs to slow down!

*crawls like a seal (arms only and drags legs behind him

*mamas boy!!!

*when we are cuddling to go to sleep, his head is on my shoulder and he has to have my hand on his belly, when I move it, he brings it, he searches for my hand and when he finds it puts it back on his tummy.

*just started stage 3 baby food and not liking how chunky it is.  He has had chicken and ground beef alone as well.  He also tried eggs this week.

*he is such a happy baby.  He is happy most of the time

*starting to pull himself up on things but once he gets there is unsure on how to get down.

*sleeps consistently from 7:00 pm to 6:39 or 7:00 am

*upgraded to convertible car seat

*two teeth

*9 months: 17 lbs. 8 oz (7th percentile)

27 inches (10th percentile)

Meyer Christmas Card 2015

Hello again!!  It has been awhile!!!  A lot has happened in the last two years since I have updated this blog!  We had a baby!  Addison is 7, Gus is 4, and Jake is 8 months.  Here is what all of us are up to now!

Ryan:

* still at Hy-Vee as a product manager

*diehard Hawk fan!!

*continues to annoy me with Hawkeye facts and recruits!

*the greatest dad around!!!!!😀

Katie

*Year 2 as a third grade teacher, this year part time and I ❤️❤️❤️ it!!!

*I am getting to spend more time with my boys and am able to volunteer in Addison's classroom in the afternoons!  

*Love to workout still but struggling to find the time!

Addison

*First Grader

*loves to dance, to sing and perform, her brothers, Elsa, American Girl, and church

*sweetest little lady although a little attitude is coming out!!!!
*she has lost three teeth

*always tries to make friends wherever she goes

*most times is the peacemaker but pesters her brother!

Gus

*4 years old and in two a day preschool

* loves his sister and brother, still sucks his thumb, loves his George (but lately is particular to which one), still loves big machines and things with wheels!

*says the funniest things. 

*has a mind of his own and is always on the GO!!!

*obsessed with the babies' heads (he says because they are so soft)

*controlling his emotions is sometimes an struggle

Jake

*8.5 months old

*loves his siblings, lights and music, the cat and dog, to eat!

*favorite foods: bananas and yogurt, applesauce, turkey and rice and sweet potatoes.  Dislikes: green beans and carrots and beef ( at least so far)

*he is a peanut!  Still in some 6 month clothes or 6-9 month clothes.  Strictly 9 month are still too big

* mamas boy!!!!  If I am in the room, he wants me

*good sleeper.  Most nights are 7:00 pm to 6:30 or 7:00 am

We have had a great year and looking forward to an exciting 2016!!!

Christmas Card 2013

Another year has gone by!  Here is what the Meyer Crew has been up to!

Ryan:

• Year 8 at Bettendorf Hy-Vee with various different positions.  His current one is product manager (he does all the ordering)
• Loves the Hawks and still constantly annoys me with all of their new football recuits =]
• Plays the drums in the basement for fun!
• Enjoying the new house and new backyard

Katie:

• Year 10 of teaching and last 8 years at Madison.  Still working with students with autism
• Loves hanging out with the kids and watching their antics!
• Reading
• Working out
• Decorating the new house

Addison:

• 5 years old!
• Loves to perform on our fireplace.  I am sure you have seen those many videos =]
• Loves princesses, ponies, and her little brother
• Loves school
• Enjoys the new neighborhood, especially Savannah (next door neighbor)
• Wants to help all the time (dishes, making her bed, putting away clean clothes, etc)
• Played soccer this fall, she liked it, I am not sure if it will be her sport but it was fun!!!!

Gus:

• 2 years old!
• Loves to talk! Right now it seems like every word starts with "b" (ex: Bomas is bumming! Translation: Thomas is coming!)
• Loves choo choo trains, wee-oos (firetrucks), and anything with wheels!
• Still loves Mickey and has a new love for George the monkey!
• Loves his big sister more than anything and every night after reading one book together, Gus goes to bed and tells his sister "good night, peanut" (that is what I call Addison so that is what he calls her too)
• He is a character!
• Loves to sing happy birthday!

Plans for 2014
