Happy Anniversary!!!
Well, today marks our third wedding anniversary!!! To celebrate, Ryan and I both worked at different times of the day. I had to work with a student for four hours this morning and Ryan worked tonight from 3-12! What a way to spend our anniversary. We saw each other from 12:00-2:00 pm. Oh well, tomorrow he starts his week vaca so I will get to see him plenty. I cannot believe that it has been three years that Ryan and I have been married. A lot has changed in those three years. We bought a house, got a dog and cat, had a baby. I love him more and more each day!!! Here are some pics from that day three years ago.

In the Dark
It has been an interesting couple of days for the Meyer family. Last Friday night, Davenport had a pretty nasty storm that knocked power out for 12,000 people. Well, we were one of them. A neighbor's tree went down on the power lines and everything went dark! Once things had calmed down outside we went out to survey the damage. Ryan called MidAmerican. It was pretty pleasant in our house the first night because we had the air on all day. We slept in the basement on the futon anyway because Ryan wanted to make sure the sump pump battery backup kept working. It worked up until 11 the next day when a neighbor from across the street (who had power) let us use his generator so we could plug in our fridge and the battery so our basement wouldn't flood. My wonderful husband stuck around on Saturday instead of going to work to keep an eye on the sump pump and help the neighbors. He let Addison and I out of the house so we could go swimming. Addison loved swimming!!!!! It was her first real experience. Saturday night, Ryan's sister, brother-in-law, and their kids came to stay. It was a lot like camping. NO lights, no cool air. It was okay though. It got to about 88 in our house. Finally, at 9:00 Saturday night someone from MidAmerican showed up to survey the damage and he told us that they didn't have record of us and this tree limb down. Baloney! Whatever, finally at 3:00 am Sunday morning, our lights popped back on!!!! It was definately an interesting experience and one that I do not want to repeat any time soon!!

Play dates, parties, busy times
Addison had her first play date this weekend with Alex DuBay!!! I think they had a good time together. Alex was a little sad but he was in a new place with a lot of new people and he just bought a new car. It is tough to buy a car!!

Ready for Summer!!!
Tomorrow is my last day of school with kids for the year!!!!! I am so excited to spend time with Addison this summer and it is going to be filled with bike rides, walks, swimming, and all sorts of other fun things that mommy can think of! I did get roped into working one day a week for three hours with a little boy who has autism who goes to PV. I was kind of looking forward to it until I found out that he is an eye gauger, hair puller, and pincher!! It is only Wednesday mornings for three hours. I am looking at it as a little extra spending money for us this summer. Addison goes into the doc for her 9 month check-up on Monday so it should be interesting to see what she weighs and how long she is. I cannot believe my little peanut is nine months old. It seems like yesterday that I held her for the first time up in Iowa City. I was so afraid that I was going to break her then. She was so small. It is hard to believe that is how she started out. She has grown into this fun loving, belly laughing, bundle of joy that always wakes up with a smile on her face. OK, she does cry to get our attention but the minute she sees Ryan or I standing by the crib, she is smiling. She is the biggest flirt I have ever met and I think her daddy and I will have our hands full when she gets older. Her latest thing is when someone is looking at her, she will lean her head to the side and smile at them. I am still trying to get a picture of it but I am not quick enough. So to sum it up, Wednesday is my last official day of school and then it is me and the peanut all summer long!!!!!!
