Christmas Card 2010

What an eventful year we have had!!! Addison is growing up so fast and all I can think about is how much I want time to slow down!! She is a rambunctious 2 year old. She is talking a mile a minute. Addison loves My Little Ponies, Care Bears, Little People, and Abby Cadabby. Her favorite Christmas movie is How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the animated one). I cannot believe that the Grinch wouldn't scare her but he doesn't! She does not like Santa and will only let him close enough to give him knuckles. She loves the SNOW! She is always asking to go out and play. She is still going to Grandma Judy's when mommy and daddy are at work. She continues to make Carter cry but they are also so cute when they play together. They love to chase each other around my mom's house and dance to the Good Morning Song. On the paci front, she still uses one but only when she is sleeping so we constantly hear "mommy, Addison tired!" She refers to her daddy as Ryan and always says "Addison" instead of "I" when talking about herself. Not potty trained yet but I plan on working on that over the summer! She has not shown any interest so far.
Ryan got a promotion this year. He is assistant director of store operations. New job means more responsibility which is great but less time for me to see him. He works the 11-9 shift so family time is out the window unless he has a day off. He still loves to golf and bang on the drums when he is home at a decent hour to do so. Ryan loves to Hawks and is always constantly telling me about new football recruits.
I am still a teacher for students with autism in Davenport. I completed my very first triathalon last June. It was a lot of fun and I plan to do another but this time with a racing bike instead of a mountain bike. I also enjoy doing bootcamp classes with my mom and sisters.

FOT (Festival of Trees)

The kids were not too sure of Santa!!!
We took the kids to Festival of Tress today. They had a lot of fun! Neither one of them liked Santa. We made a cookie, saw some pretty trees, and some little kids dancing. Addison and Carter loved the TRAIN!!!! It was their favorite part. We went to the FOT parade on Saturday and went up to Cedar Falls on Friday night to see our cousin be inducted into the high school football hall of fame!!1 The week to come will bring Sesame Street Live, Thanksgiving, and a wedding.

Happy Halloween!!!!

It was a busy weekend for us this weekend. Saturday, we carved pumpkins and then Addison stayed at home with Grammy and Papa Buster while mom, dad, uncle Craig, Papa, Uncle Cory, and Aunt Jo went to the fabulous Iowa game!!!! Who would have pictured a game like that, especially after what we watched last week!!! Sunday, we went to Boo at the Zoo, trick or treating at the Bettendorf Hy-Vee to see Addison's daddy, and trick or treating in Bettendorf! Busy, Busy, Busy.

Fall break!

I have been on fall break since beginning of October. I go back to school on Wednesday, which I am a little sad about but I also know how great I have it! I have a job that I love. I get off before four most days of the week, I get a week off in October, a full two weeks at Christmas, two weeks in the spring, and 6-7 weeks in the summer! I get to spend all that time with little miss Addison. We have had a lot of fun during this break! We couldn't have had better weather. We took many trips to the park, got to spend two days up on the farm and experience our first ride in a combine, went to an apple festival, and enjoyed a petting zoo. Addison is exploding with words all of a sudden. She talks all the time and will repeat anything that you say so I guess mom and dad will have to start watching what we say!!!!

2 year stats

Addison had her two year doc appointment today. She weighs 24.6 pounds (19 percentile) and is 31.5 inches tall (4 percentile). Yeah, she's a shorty! If you want an update on the crazy family weekend that we had over Labor Day, see the Hatz family blog for an overview.

2

Oh my goodness! How quickly time flies by! My little baby is 2 years old today. 8:32 am, beautiful Addison Marie was born!!! You are becoming such a big girl and much more independent (tears from mom). Here are some things that you can do at 2.

  • Talk, talk, talk! You love to talk. You are coming up with new words all the time.

  • Just after you were born and in the NICU

  • You love to play the yes/no game. I ask you who made that mess or that noise and you always say yes to the right person, except when you made the mess!!!!

  • 3 months

  • You no longer cry when I drop you off at child watch at the Y. You walk right in and turn around to say good-bye.

  • 6 months

  • You still like to go your own way.

  • 9 months

  • You want to listen to "bus" (The wheels on the bus) when we get in the car and always ask for it appropriately.
  • 12 months

  • You still love Sesame street, especially Abby. You can say Abby now and you are having an Abby Cadabby birthday party and are going to be Abby for Halloween.

  • 18 months

  • You also like to watch Care Bears, My Little Pony, Wonder Pets, Dora, and Thomas but mommy only lets you have, at most 1.5 hours of TV a day.
2 years old!

  • You are still eating pretty well. Your not nearly as picky!
  • Grandma and Addison at the zoo with the birds!

  • You love trains, fire trucks, and police cars. You always let us know when you hear them!!!!

  • You are becoming a little mommy! You feed your babies and give them baths.

Happy Birthday our little lady!!!!!

If we take care of the moments, the years will take care of themeselves.

Pee Pee in the Potty!

Addison went pee in the potty tonight!!!! We sat down on the potty before our bath and I was grabbing the lotion that she likes to put on her hands and all of a sudden the potty is playing music!!! She was so excited. Mommy made huge deal out of it and I kept telling her what a big girl she was. Hopefully it continues!
